Most people see this stone in a purple or blue color. It is commonly confused with Sapphire, but much different. Crystals with this color are some of the most coveted ones. This color is not normally natural, and most Tanzanite is heat treated to give it this wonderful purple-blue violet color. It can be found in many other colors as well. We have green, yellow, pink and even brown unheated Tanzanite gemstones. Tons of colors available, but most much rarer than the purples and blues. Tanzanite only comes from Tanzania. You cannot find it anywhere else in the world. That is part of what makes it so rare and more expensive than many of the gemstones and crystals you will find.
