Gränsfors Splitting Hatchet, 439
The Gränsfors splitting ax can be used with one or two hands for small firewood.
The blade is curved at the cheek and forged and sanded quite thin.
The ax cuts into the wood quickly and easily, effectively splitting it by virtue of the wider part pushing the wood apart.
The handle has a handle made of steel below the ax head and round notches at the lower end for a particularly firm hold.
Splitting axes should not be used to drive a wedge or as a wedge.
Only the splitting hammer is intended for this.
The ax comes with a blade guard.
