The Camillus Ravenous Tomahawk Ratchet has a 2.75" 420 Stainless steel blade with a Glass filled Nylon Handle. 420 steel is a hard, strong blade steel. This stainless steel is commonly used in knife blades, and offers good corrosion resistance at a low cost. Decent edge holding capabilities and fairly easy to resharpen, this steel is a good balance of the most desirable traits for knife steel. Glass filled nylon handles are found on our TigerSharp knives. We add glass-filled materials to polypropylene, ABS and other substraits in order to provide the strongest, most rigid handles designed for the TigerSharp technology. Included is a Ballistic Nylon sheath which is a thick, tough, synthetic nylon fabric that protects against debris and other foreign materials. It is commonly used for making sheaths. The steel is Titanium Bonded which is not painted or plated, but an application of a unique formulation of titanium and chromium nitride to the surface of cutting blades that actually penetrates and treats the metal to create a permanent bond. The patented Titanium Bonding process provides the following benefits; corrosion resistance, adhesive resistance and the process itself makes the stainless steel 3x harder than untreated stainless providing a blade that stays sharper longer.
